Baltimore County police are investigating two separate car crashes that resulted in the deaths of a man and woman, police said.

In the first incident, Evelyn Cornell was crossing Wise Avenue in Dundalk around 5:40 p.m. Friday when, police said, she was struck by a 2019 Nissan Altima traveling eastbound. Cornell was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene, police said.

Just less than two hours later, the driver in a single car crash, also in Dundalk, died.

Baltimore County police crash investigators were called to the scene on Rolling Mill Road near North Point Boulevard at 7:32 p.m. Friday. The vehicle, a 1993 Honda Accord, was traveling southbound as it crossed the oncoming traffic lane, leaving the roadway and driving into a wooded area where it came to a stop, police said.

The driver, identified by police as Antonio Whittington, 38, was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The Baltimore County police are still investigating details surrounding the crash.
