BELLEVUE – Two Brown County deputies pulled a driver from a burning vehicle early Wednesday, and the dramatic rescue was caught one of the officer’s squad car video.
Law enforcement was called to a report of a vehicle that crashed and burst into flames about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in a Bellevue neighborhood.
Sgt. Chris Tappen and Deputy Cooper Walker approached the vehicle, forced the door open and removed the driver from the vehicle. then went back to the vehicle and opened doors in search of any occupants. “They did not hesitate to jump into action to save the life of a citizen,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.
The driver was later arrested for suspicion of drunken driving, the sheriff’s office said.
